Von Kapstadt bis Port Elizabeth erstreckt sich die berühmte und eine der schönsten Highlights Südafrikas, die Garden Route. Eine Marketingkampagne gab seinerzeit der Route ihren Namen. Sie beginnt genau in Mossel Bay, verläuft entlang der Südküste Südafrikas und endet in Stroms River, der Provinz Eastern Cape.

Die Garden Route ist ein einziges Naturparadies, welches an Vielfalt und Abwechslung kaum zu überbieten ist. Von Fish Hoek aus kann man mit einem Mietwagen oder einem Tourguide die komplette Strecke oder auch nur einen Teil davon bequem abfahren.

Entlang der Strecke kann man die Big 5 Südafrikas sehen. Der Addo Elephant Nationalpark ist nicht nur Heim von über 600 Elefanten wie man vielleicht glauben mag, sondern auch Lebensraum von Leoparden, Löwen, Nashörnern, Straußen, Flusspferden, Kudus, Zebras und unzähligen Vogelarten. Also mit etwas Glück kann man schon die 5 großen Wildtiere entdecken.

From Cape Town to Port Elizabeth stretches the famous and one of the most beautiful highlights of South Africa, the Garden Route. A marketing campaign gave the route its name at the time. It starts exactly in Mossel Bay, runs along the south coast of South Africa and ends in Stroms River, the Eastern Cape province.

The Garden Route is a unique natural paradise, which is hard to beat in terms of variety and diversity. From Fish Hoek you can easily drive the whole route or just a part of it with a rental car or a tour guide.

Along the route you can see the Big 5 of South Africa. The Addo Elephant National Park is not only home to over 600 elephants as you might think, but also habitat of leopards, lions, rhinos, ostriches, hippos, kudus, zebras and countless bird species. So with a little luck, you can already spot the 5 big game animals.
