Eingebettet zwischen Kalkbay und Simonstown, Fish Hoek ein Küstenort auf der Kaphalbinsel
Ein kleiner Ort, fernab des Massentourismus, will entdeckt werden. Gelegen zwischen zwei Bergen und weißem Sandstrand, türkisblauem und herrlich klarem Wasser.
Obwohl Fish Hoek nur einen Steinwurf zu den touristisch eher stark frequentierten Dörfern Kalk Bay und Simonstown entfernt ist, ist es im Vergleich dazu fast verschlafen. Hier bewegt Ihr Euch unter den „locals“ und findet noch das authentische Leben Südafrikas vor.
Der lange, weiße Strand in der False Bay ist windgeschützt, sicher betreut von Rettungsschwimmern und Haifischnetz und wirklich perfekt für alle Sonnenhungrige unter Euch, Surfern, Familien zum Sandburgen bauen und buggyboarden. Ab in den Süden gen Cape Point
Zu den süßen Pinguinen am Boulders Beach, in das Künstlerdorf Simonstown, zur Imhoffarm oder Surfer´s Long Beach in Kommetje und zum Cape Point, also dem Kap der guten Hoffnung, kommt Ihr ganz easy, in nur wenigen Fahrminuten.
Auf in den Norden von Fishhoek
Über den legendären Champans Peak geht es nach Hout Bay und von dort über Camps Bay direkt zum Tafelberg und die City Bowl/Waterfront.
Der Ou Kaapse Weg, am Gipfel mit spektakulärem Ausblick über die False Bay, bringt Euch in das grüne Constantia Valley, keine 20 min. entfernt. „Es grünt so grün“ in diesem Wein-Valley, wie man es einfach nicht erwarten würde. Weingärten soweit das Auge reicht und tolle Weinfarmen, eine schöner als die Andere.
Ebenfalls über Hout Bay und das Constantia Nek ist Kirstenbosch gardens & die summer concerts / Picknicks zu erreichen. Übrigens, bei einer Buchung unseres Hauses ist selbstverständlich das komplette Picknickequiment inkludiert. Ein Event, den man nicht versäumen sollte, wenn es die Zeit zuläßt.
Wirklich nur um´s Eck ist Cape Point Vinyards, die schönste Weinfarm weit und breit. Köstlicher Wein, herrliches Essen und romantische Picknicks am Teich werden dort angeboten. Ein besuchenswerter food-market einmal die Woche, zieht die Einheimischen in Scharen an.

Nestled between Kalkbay and Simonstown, Fish Hoek a coastal village on the Cape Peninsula.
A small place, far away from mass tourism, wants to be discovered. Situated between two mountains and white sandy beach, turquoise blue and beautifully clear water.
Although Fish Hoek is only a stone’s throw away from the more touristy villages of Kalk Bay and Simonstown, it is almost sleepy in comparison. Here you move among the locals and still find the authentic life of South Africa.
The long, white beach in False Bay is protected from the wind, safely supervised by lifeguards and shark nets, and really perfect for all sun-seekers among you, surfers, families to build sandcastles and buggy boarding. Off to the south towards Cape Point
To the cute penguins at Boulders Beach, to the artist village Simonstown, to the Imhoffarm or Surfer’s Long Beach in Kommetje and to Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope, you can easily reach within a few minutes drive.
On to the north of Fishhoek
Via the legendary Champans Peak you go to Hout Bay and from there via Camps Bay directly to Table Mountain and the City Bowl/Waterfront.
The Ou Kaapse trail, at the summit with spectacular views over False Bay, takes you to the green Constantia Valley, less than 20 min. away. „It’s so green“ in this wine valley, you just wouldn’t expect it. Vineyards as far as the eye can see and great wine farms, one more beautiful than the other.
Also accessible via Hout Bay and the Constantia Nek is Kirstenbosch gardens & the summer concerts / picnics. By the way, when you book our house, the complete picnic equipment is of course included. An event not to be missed if time permits.
Just around the corner is Cape Point Vinyards, the most beautiful wine farm far and wide. Delicious wine, great food and romantic picnics by the pond are offered there. A food market worth visiting once a week attracts the locals in droves.
